Sadly the darkness of the poem is a side of life your children will learn about and then decide how they will be able to love, see the beauty around us, find the people who see things in a light and not the dark alone, and help elevate the world to a higher, more loving and caring place along with standing up to the ones who want darkness. It's a challenge for children and adults. Letting them find out about the sadness is better than you bringing it to them. Our job as parents: show them the love and goodness and how to be kind so they recognize the opposite.
